Technician Job Description

Every legislative body that uses party systems has a majority and minority party. The minority leader is the leader of the minority party, and his or her job is, in a nutshell, to recapture the majority. This is his number one priority – without a majority rule of the legislative body, the party cannot get anything on its agenda through, and every member will find it difficult to get re-elected in upcoming years as they go back to their districts without any clear indications of what they have achieved.

Methods

The manner in which the minority leader attempts to take back the legislative body varies depending on the leader, his party and the specific circumstances. For example, if the minority party is the same as the president’s party (in the USA) then the minority leader will spend a great deal of time working with the president to take back to the House (or Senate).
