Heathrow airport is home to many airlines. With five different operational terminals at one airport, making a flight connection at Heathrow is not always an easy task even for most frequent flyers.

The aviation industry relies quite heavily on revenue from transfer passengers, for taxation reasons, and therefore airlines are continually filling up their planes with more transfer than direct passengers.

Transferring Between Flights in Terminal 5

Heathrow terminal 5 is the hub of Britain’s flagship carrier, British Airways. Passengers connecting between flights at terminal 5 will also be arriving from other BA flights, making it quicker to transfer as they will have had most, if not all, of the mandatory checks (i.e. passport and visa checks) completed at the start of their journey.
