Callcenter Jobs India
In the 60 years that Formula One has been around, the sport has expanded its strong European fan base to an international collection of enthusiasts. In 2011, the race calendar will, for the first time, include the Indian Grand Prix. Much of the credit for this goes to formula one supremo Bernie Ecclestone whose vision of taking the sport around the world has achieved immense success. With a population of more than a billion people, taking Formula One to India will do little harm to the global success of the sport. But it has taken more than a century for motorsport in India to get this far.
Motorsport in India
The very first road race in India was held in 1904 between Delhi and Mumbai with the permission of then Viceroy, Lord Curzen. With a lack of motor vehicles in India, motorsport remained in its infancy for many decades. Prior to the Second World War, race competitions were largely unorganised, unprofessional and without prizes. After the war, several disused airfields were converted into race tracks but the competitions continued to be without rules and regulations. It was not until the formation of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) in 1971, that real efforts were made to hold regular organised events.
